Welcome to the Website for the Wickets Golf Society.
The Wickets Golf Society was informally established at the start of the 1990’s by a small group of golfers who socialised at the Wickets Inn pub on the A5 in Wellington Town.

They began by organising the odd day out, to go and play golf purely as a ‘social pastime’.
A few years later, as the group were joined by more regular golfers, the Wickets Golf Society was fully established, with a Captain and a committee of officers.

Since that time the Society has grown in numbers to around 25 regular members and some dozen or so intermittent members. The society is also bolstered by guest players who join us from time to time.
The Society organises seven to eight monthly outings, mainly on a Friday, whereby we visit golf courses in Wales and the Midlands areas, targeting courses no more than an hour’s travelling from Telford.

These outings are from March through to September/October, with the last venue being the Captain’s Day.
Each monthly venue usually consists of 18 holes of golf with a meal to follow, either at the golf club or back at the Wickets Inn.
Other events are organised through the Society such as golfing holidays abroad and weekends away in the UK.
The Society is made up of all standards of golfers from single figure handicappers to the novice 28 handicapper, all are welcome.

If you are visiting this site then you may be interested in joining the Wickets Golf Society, to experience some good golfing venues with serious golfers who enjoy a social occasion after the scores are added up.
